Extrudex
began in 1980 as a sales company owned by Mr. T. Gill Herrick
which marketed custom thermoplastic extrusions produced by
others. Within a few years the company acquired production
and secondary processing capability and grew larger. In 1990,
George Humphrey and members of his family purchased Extrudex
from Mr. Herrick and invested in additional machinery and equipment
so as to increase production capacity. Two years later the
company moved from Chardon, Ohio to a larger plant in Painesville,
Ohio. When this plant became insufficient in 1997, a 10,000
square foot addition was constructed. The company remains growth
oriented and has an ongoing objective of gradually increasing
the number of polymers it processes as well as the size and
variety of its custom extrusions.
